High dynamic capacity loudspeakers.
_vKi loudspeakers are designed and built to reproduce exact dynamics, from micro-information to macro-dynamic impact.
Beyond frequency-domain performance and steady-state measurements, _vKi focuses on time-domain behavior and transient regimes. Because music is not a steady signal. It is a succession of transients.
Dynamics cannot be fully described in steady-state terms.
Frequency-domain and steady-state measurements remain essential, but they do not fully describe how a loudspeaker reacts to music. _vKi extends the design target into the time domain, using proprietary measurement protocols to study transient behavior.

Exact dynamics
Micro and macro dynamics preserved beyond steady-state frequency-domain performance.

Transient behavior
Music is a succession of transients. _vKi is developed and evaluated with this reality in mind.

Time-domain work
A proprietary measurement protocol is used to study behavior that conventional measurements often miss.

Bench-proven progress
Each innovation is intended to be compared, measured and documented against state-of-the-art references.
Measured ahead of most high-end references.
Through _vKi, Kartesian does not replace conventional measurements
— We extend them.

Advanced electroacoustic measurements remain part of the development process, alongside dynamic and time-domain analysis.

Each development combines measurements and listening sessions to connect observed behavior with signal reproduction performance.
We benchmarked 37 woofers with diameters from 172 to 190 mm and prices ranging from 60% to 250% of the Wom185_vKi.
To make the comparison meaningful, we grouped them into two category:
-
Regular woofers: vintage, esoteric and usual technology
-
High-quality woofers: state-of-the-art references, innovative solution
Then the performances average is calculated, setting the curve of each group.

Three innovations dedicated to accurate dynamic reproduction.
Excellent dynamic behavior depends on three physical foundations: motor force generation, suspension motion control, and membrane energy transfer into sound pressure.
Motor control
A unique architecture for strong, wide and accurate force generation.
The _vKi motor combines what conventional architectures usually have to compromise:
Ultra-low inductance, high force factor and wider linear excursion.
-
Up to 3× lower inductance
-
Around 40% higher useful dynamic capability
Suspension behavior
Linear where music happens. Progressive where protection matters.
_vKi spider and surround systems manage excursion, restoring force and mechanical losses without restricting dynamic response.
Stable Kms(x) across the linear range helps preserve Fs(x) and Qms(x), while progressive stiffness protects the driver under large excursions.
Cone response
Accurate motion, precisely transduced into sound pressure.
_vKi cone structures are engineered as the final transduction stage.
Dedicated materials increase stiffness while controlling upper-band damping.
Cone geometry is finely developed to preserve transient information as sound pressure.

Cone materials
_vKi dynamic capacity comes from the sum of precisely engineered details: magnetic geometry, suspension profiles, cone structure, voice coil construction, frame design and production tolerances all contribute to the final behavior.
Every single part is engineered, measured and refined.
Magnetic circuit
A unique motor architecture allowing to combine low inductance, low moving-coil mass, and a strong, stable force factor.
Linear spiders
Three spider profiles adapt suspension behavior to different design targets, keeping stable stiffness over large excursion.
CGF, hexaKone and proprietary paper formulations are used to balance the cone stiffness, force transfer and damping.
Low-loss surrounds
IIR and SBR based surrounds with profiles designed to improve response, reduce diffraction and increase Sd.
Voice coils
Voice coils built on titanium formers reinforced with glass fibre, manly made of 1 layer for lowest mass and inductance.
Specific frames
Frames designed for rigidity, acoustic openness and balanced mechanical anchoring of motor, spider and surround.
Performance is repeatable, not exceptional.
_vKi is dedicated to the most demanding brands.
Every measured advantage must remain stable across production.
Kartesian controls the full chain from component design to manufacturing validation.
Tight production tolerances
Critical parameters are controlled to reduce dispersion between units and maintain predictable acoustic behavior.
Printed QC certificate
Each product is delivered with its printed quality-control certificate, containing the essential measurements performed up-to the end of the assembly process.
Unique production number
Each driver receives its own production number, allowing individual identification and traceability throughout the manufacturing and QC process.
Batch-to-batch consistency
Production stability starts with incoming material control. _vKi drivers are built for repeatable performance, not one-off results.

A platform for specific and exclusive versions
From proven technology to brand-specific applications.
Based on three voice-coil platforms — 44 mm, 68 mm and 115 mm — _vKi allows Kartesian to adapt or develop each critical component around a brand’s acoustic target, product positioning and integration constraints.
