-0- Loudspeaker diameter

According to selected diameter, your loudspeaker will be developed on frame used for the regular version of same diameter.

Frame are made of injected Aluminium (ACD12)

No up-cost.

For the most ambitious projects, it is possible to design and built specific / exclusive frame.

-1- Cooper strips

Without cooper struts, the inductance value and variation [Le(x)] may increase by ~10%.

It is included in base price of ODM, remove it makes 10.2€ cost saving.

-2- Dual Aluminium rings

The 2nd Aluminum ring is located at the bottom of magnetic yoke.

It short circuit Eddy current, to reduce IMD.

Up-cost: 5.6€

-3- Long cooper ring

The cooper ring covers the Yoke.

It decreases inductance value by ~25% and reduce THD from ~200Hz.

Up-cost: 28.2€ (Compatibility with voice coil to be confirmed by Kartesian)

-4- Main Spider

Suspension stiffness variation [Kms(x)] is a significant cause of THD in low frequency.

Constant stiffness is theoretically perfect but it doesn't protect the excessive excursion.

Kartesian has developed 3 spider technology to adjust the stiffness curve, reaching ideal linearity / protection.

dynamiK has constant stiffness over the full excursion (no protection).

progressiF has smooth stiffness variation over the full excursion, progressive protection.

pumaX has nearly constant stiffness up to 80% of the max excursion, next the stiffness  protect the woofer.

The tolerance to reach the target of Fs [Hz] is 10%.

Cost included in specific design fees.

-5- Dual Spiders

Dual spiders are highly recommended for woofer with linear excursion above +/-10mm.

It balances the moving parts over the largest excursions, and adjust the stiffness curve [Kms(x)] with higher accuracy, removing any offset.

Dual spiders are separated by specific vented spacer, including in the option price.

Up-cost: +55€

-6- Voice coil *

_vKi voice coils are built on Titanium former, reinforced by glass fibre layer.

Coil can be made with round or ribbon wire, up-to 2 layers.

The linear Bl(x) is defined with 10% variation from the nominal value.

If the required voice coil has different parameters than existing version, , it requires engineering fees: 1450€ (flat rate), including: Engineering, tooling, assembling Jigs, optimal position with Klippel.

The voice coil specifically developed for your requirement will be exclusively produced for your orders.

-7- Weight ring

The weight ring is glued at the junction of the voice coil and the cone.

It has 2 functions:

1- It increases the rigidity of the voice coil former, pushing away the radial breaking mode of the cone.

2- It increase the Mms[g] for those who need higher Qts for sealed enclosure application.

​Usual moving mass with cone "Wom" type are:

- 185mm : 30 - 33g

- 265mm : 50 - 55g

-8- Cone

_vKi cone are paper cone using hexaKone technology to increase stiffness, keeping low mass.

It is possible to add damping layer on the back of the cone to decrease the amplitude of the cone break-up. This is specially noticable at the end of the band, above the main cone break-up.

It allows cleaner response, 1 - 2 octave above the crossover point.

Up-cost: 25€

-9- Surround

The surround are made of NBR, SBR or IIR material, according to technical requirement (damping, excursion, ...).

The Omega / M shape surround are suitable for loudspeaker with excursion up to +/-10mm.

Above +/- 10mm excursion, we highly recommend to use half roll surround.

No up-cost.

-10- Dust cap

The dust cap has very important function for the frequency response? It participate to the overall membrane stiffness.

Carbon fibre is well known material combining good stiffness and low weight.

CGF is a proprietary material, more rigid than carbon fibre, but heavier by ~15%

Up-cost: +15€

There isn't any MOQ for prototype, according to your requirements, engineering fees may be required.

The purpose of ODM is to prototype your _vKi driver to validate its performances are suitable with your requirements before validate and place production order. The price for your production will be discussed after validation.
